Now let's go to the interior. The interior is as nice as the exterior and the base Compass is outfitted with foglights, roof rails, air-conditioning, cruise control, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a tilt-only steering wheel, a 115-volt household power outlet and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. As you go up in the trim level, the Compass can be outfitted with
a rearview camera, a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, 28GB of digital music storage and satellite radio.

Powering the 2014 Jeep Compass

When it comes to the Compass' engine, there are a choice of two engines.  Both of them are four cylinder engine's but the 2.0 liter produces 158 horsepower and 141 pound-feet of torque.  The 2.4 liter cylinder engine produces 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque. The 2.4 liter engine is optional on the front-wheel-drive Sport and Latitude and standard on the all-wheel-drive models and all Compass Limited models. The 2.0 liter engine is standard on front-wheel-drive Sport and Latitude trims.  A five-speed manual transmission is standard for the Sport, while the Latitude and Limited receive a new six-speed automatic as standard.

The Jeep Compass rides comfortably, and it will not jostle you around especially over speed bumps.  The chassis is a good one, the SUV offers a great conversational environment due to great use of sound deadening material, sealants and structural adhesives.
